Dr Despabiladeras finished her medical degree at the Manila Central University in Manila, Philippines in 1988 and subsequently her psychiatry specialization training at the Makati Medical Center Department of Neurosciences Section of Psychiatry in 1997.  She is a Fellow of the Philippine Psychiatric Association and a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Psychiatry since 2001. 

She both taught at the Manila Central University and practiced at the affiliated Hospital, and was also actively involved in the training of medical residents in the hospital. She worked in Singapore from 2005-2006 as a medical officer in the Department of Adult Psychiatry at the Institute of Mental Health before coming to China, where she has worked in her field both in Hong Kong and in the mainland in International Medical facilities.  

Dr. Rhoda Despabiladeras specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of common mental health problems like anxiety, depression, adjustment problems, substance use disorders and relational problems in adults as well as adolescents.  She also sees individuals, couples and families for psychotherapy. She also performs initial assessments for children with developmental problems.
